Traveling to Apulit Island

I woke up this morning and took in the views. I then had just a terrible breakfast, yuck.

The hotel gave me a ride back to the airport where I would catch a van from the resort that would take me two hours south to Taytay to catch a boat to the Apulit Island. It sort of had a Hollywood feel, well not really, it was just the sign.

Safety first as they handed out life jackets, letting us know that the sea is a bit rough today.

They weren't kidding, the swells were a good five to ten feet and I had some concerns if the boat would hold up. There were probably 15 of us on board and I would guess six to eight of them got sick along the way.

We finally made it and this place was beautiful, truly one of the most amazing locations I have ever seen. A nice limestone cove with the resort protected inside. El Nido seemed to have a common theme, they survive on location alone. While this place was breathtaking, thats all it was, the staff was terrible, the food was terrible, and the bathroom would prove to be a bit challenging. My room.

The view from my deck.

The view from my bed. I would sleep with these doors wide open and fall asleep to the sound of the waves crashing ashore with a wonderful breeze keeping me cool.

A great place to relax, too bad the service is non-existent and you have to get up and go and get your own drinks.

And when you go to the bar to get a drink it could take a good 20 minutes even if there are only four of you there. But with crystal clear waters like this they can get away with it.

I stopped to chat with one of the locals and he took me to a secret beach on the other side of the island.

I think it's so secret that the staff does not even know about it as it was quite dirty. Or maybe they do know about it and it's too much trouble for them to clean it. Kind of like how it was too much trouble for them to get me a beer on the beach.

It was beautiful and I was looking forward to exploring tomorrow.

For now I was just going to kick back and relax. But I would have to say this is an overpriced three star resort that could easily be a five star resort.
